Runners crossing the finish timing mat at a Kansas cross country meet

Cross Country Meet Timing

Every runner wears a chip. Every finish and every split is recorded electronically, team scores are figured the moment the fifth runner crosses, and results are on MileSplit before the last bus leaves. We time cross country from small-school invitationals to the KSHSAA state championships, on flat courses, hilly courses and courses that loop through a pasture twice.

How a meet with us goes

  1. 1

Book it. Date, course, expected number of runners. Braden sends availability and a quote.

  2. 2

Entries. Coaches enter on Kansas MileSplit. We pull entries and assign chips by school.

  3. 3

Setup. The crew arrives well before the first race, lays the finish mat and the split mats, sets the clock and the results tent, and walks the chute with the meet director.

  4. 4

Race day. Splits post live at the 1-mile and 2-mile marks. Finish times and team scores post as each race ends.

  5. 5

After. Full results, team scores and individual splits post to MileSplit and midwesttiming.com, and the meet goes in our archive.
